Mana is the magical energy fueling spells of spellcasters. It is also deeply interconnected with life-force in every plane in the universe, and it can take that role by itself as well. When there is no mana in an area, everything dies, and where mana’s density is very low, life-forms become emaciated and weak.

Mana exists in five distinct colors: Red, Green, White, Blue, and Black. Each color of mana is drawn from different areas in a world and naturally tends toward certain principles, moralities, and concepts.

An interesting note: Enchanted prisms break light into the five colors of mana. Obviously, this manifests in a very interesting way: Red light, green light, an alabaster light, blue light, and purplish-black light.
