You inhale, and breathe out a blast of energy, mimicking that of the legendary dragons.

You gain a breath weapon from one of five dragons, listed below. You may use this breath weapon once for every 5 caster levels you possess during the spell’s duration, after which point the spell is discharged. On the round you cast dragon’s breath, using the breath weapon is a free action; later uses require a standard action. You must wait 1d4 rounds between each use of the breath weapon. The spell’s effect and energy type depend on the dragon you choose. All uses for a particular casting are of the same chosen dragon.

Shivan Dragon: Your breath unleashes a 30-foot cone of roaring flame. Everything in the cone takes 1d6 points of fire damage per caster level (maximum 15d6). When you choose this dragon, this spell gains the Fire descriptor. You may only choose the Shivan Dragon if this spell was cast using Red mana.

Canopy Dragon: Your breath unleashes a 60-foot line of boiling acid. Everything in the line takes 1d6 points of acid damage per caster level (maximum 15d6). When you choose this dragon, this spell gains the Acid descriptor. You may only choose the Canopy Dragon if this spell was cast using Green mana.

Alabaster Dragon: Your breath unleashes a 30-foot cone of searing light. Everything in the cone takes 1d4 points of light damage per caster level (maximum 15d4). When you choose this dragon, this spell gains the Light descriptor. You may only choose the Alabaster Dragon if this spell was cast using White mana.

Icefall Dragon: Your breath unleashes a 30-foot cone of freezing ice. Everything in the cone takes 1d6 points of cold damage per caster level (maximum 15d6). When you choose this dragon, this spell gains the Cold descriptor. You may only choose the Icefall Dragon if this spell was cast using Blue mana.

Ebon Dragon: Your breath unleashes a 60-foot line of cutting shadows. Everything in the line takes 1d4 points of shadow damage per caster level (maximum 15d4). When you choose this dragon, this spell gains the Darkness descriptor. You may only choose the Ebon Dragon if this spell was cast using Black mana.

You can have only one dragon’s breath spell in effect at a time; casting a new one ends the previous one.

GMs may allow players to make tweaks to the above-listed options to approximate a different dragon species (though does require a famg specific to that species). Any altered option should be of the same general power as the existing options. Generally speaking, these conversations should be done outside of play.

Special: If using a divine focus, you must worship a dragon or draconic patron (if a warlock or dragon shaman) related to the chosen dragon type. A character with a draconic heritage may may cast this spell without a focus so long as they choose their heritage dragon’s type.
