Skies of Glass
A brownish crystal found in igneous (volcanic) rocks, zircon attains a variety of pale colors valued in the gemstone trade through skilled heating and cutting. It is usually cut into facets. These semiprecious stones are occasionally passed off as more valuable gemstones (typically diamonds) by unscrupulous merchants, though anyone with a fair knowledge of gemstones can tell the difference. High quality cut zircons can be used as an augmenting material component in spells that enhance skills. Powdered zircon can also be alchemically mixed with coffee beans and other ingredients to make a strong stimulant.
