- Conjuration [Chaos, Wild]
- Level: Red 5
- Components: V, S, M (a brass spinner)
- Casting Time: 1 round
- Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels.)
- Effect: 5-ft.-radius vortex
- Duration: 1 round/level
- Saving Throw: None or Reflex half; see text
- Spell Resistance: No
The caster unleashes a cyclone of uncontrolled wild magic. The vortex springs into existence wherever the caster chooses spell range and moves 30 feet per round in a direction of the caster’s choice. Any creature caught in the path of the vortex takes 1d6 points of damage/caster level (maximum 13d6, reflex save for half). There is a cumulative 5% chance for every creature hit that Nahal’s Vortex will explode in a 10-ft radius, destroying the vortex and affecting each creature in the radius as if they had just wild surged in an area of wild magic. Each creature afflicted counts as both target and caster. If the wild surge would alter a spell cast, the target instead has a ferret manifest somewhere in their belongings and they reroll on the table. This wild surge has no chance of mutating the creatures afflicted, even if within an area of wild magic, faewood, or the like.
The caster may redirect the vortex as a move action. If the cyclone moves out of range from caster, the caster loses control of the spell and the vortex begins moving in random directions at 60 feet per round.
