You disrupt a groups ability to draw upon magical energies. For the duration of the spell, whenever any of the subjects casts a spell or uses a spell-like ability they must succeed on a caster level check (1d20+caster level) equal to 12 plus twice the highest spell level they’re able to cast. On a successful check, the spell is completed. Failure indicates they failed to draw magical energy past the disruption and fails to cast the spell, but the mana and materials are not lost and they do not suffer mana burn. Any feats or abilities that aid in bypassing Spell Resistance help with this check. On a successful Will save, the duration of Mystic Detention is reduced to 1 round.
Dispel checks to remove Mystic Detention take a –5 penalty due to this spell’s interference with magical energies.
