Campaign of the Month: January 2015
Skies of Glass
Immunities: Immunities may now only be gained through racial and class abilities, or from extremely powerful items. Any item or spell that used to grant immunity now grants a Heavy Fortification-like 75% chance to ignore the effect. Ongoing effects are checked immediately and then again at the beginning of the character’s round if necessary. Many monster and some items can grant an X% reduction in a target’s immunity, much like a figher’s ability to take feats that reduce damage reduction.
If a monster reduces a target’s immunity, they will occasionally grant the target a +1 bonus on the save instead for every 10% immunity reduced. For instance, say Bobo has a Periapt of Proof against Poison, granting him a 75% fortification against poison, and is being bitten by the poisonous snake, Mr. Slithers, who has a 30% reduction on the target’s immunity to poison but gives the target a bonus on their saves as noted above. In this case, Bobo would have a 45% chance to be immune to the poison, but should he have to roll against it, he’ll gain a +3 bonus to his save. Further, should he fail the save, his Periapt will have a 45% chance of clearing the poison from his system at the beginning of each round. This is intended to allow for more flexible builds for both players and monsters.
