You imbue a siege weapon of up to size Gargantuan, such as a ballista or a battering ram, with mobility and the semblance of life. The siege weapon uses your caster level as its targeting bonus. The siege weapon attacks whomever or whatever you initially designate when casting the spell, continuing to do so as long as the spell lasts, though you must spend a standard action to aim the siege weapon anytime thereafter when you want it to fire at a new target. You must supply ammunition for siege weapon to use, but it will automatically load itself with any ammunition placed next to it. If multiple types of ammunition are available, you may command it as a free action to pick a specific one, otherwise it will choose randomly.

With a free action, you can command the siege weapon to stop firing. You can also command it to allow itself to be operated normally as a free action (in which case it gains none of the benefits of this spell). In either case, getting it to start firing again is a standard action, though you may choose a new target for it to fire at when doing so.
