That’s great to hear you guys have managed to get into some trouble already! Jayden got himself in a little too deep when he first got to Erathell, jumped in the forest straight-away to try to find a missing logger and nearly got himself dead. So he ended up working around Hope and helping random people for a while, cleared out a dire rat infestation in some basement, did some work for Milly (weird chick, right?). Anywho, don’t bother being sorry, Harcourt is booooring, you’re not missing anything. Jayden’s been petitioning The Keepers for various bits of information on the town’s past, seeing if this plague has been here before, and Simon’s been using the funds the town gave us for our research to order in all sorts of weird ingredients to try to whip up an alchemical cure. He’s worried it’s some derivation of the Grey Wasting, sent a sample up to Sanctuary but all they’d tell us basically summed up to “Nope”.
Weird to hear there’s a swamp so close to Welbeck, been through there a couple times but never saw that. Then again, didn’t really have a reason to go into the woods around there. So…just how nice is this fort? This totally-unclaimed-and-forgotten fort, this now zombie-free fort, in the middle of the forest?
Anyways, here’s hoping you give those grave robbers what-for, nasty practice that. Oh! If you guys head farther south than Welbeck be sure to check in with the sheriff in Barton or Chirbury, heard word there’s been some weirdly aggressive bandit trouble going on up there. Supposedly they hit at really specific intervals, so unless you blunder through you shouldn’t have any troubles.
Stay safe, but not too safe,
- Ethan (and Jayden and Simon)

Just for the record, after reading this, Reikhardt kind of wants to strangle Ethan a little bit (while pulling bandit arrows out of his own shoulders).
Cayden is just going to chalk this up to a lesson learned: We should stop in towns and ask if there is anything plaguing travelers.
